1. Who operates GeoCapital

GeoCapital is an online geography game available at geocapital.fun and www.geocapital.fun. For privacy questions, contact geocapital.fun@gmail.com.

2. Information we collect

GeoCapital may collect account information such as username, email address, country of origin, authentication provider, language preference and account timestamps. If you sign in with Google, GeoCapital may receive basic Google account information such as your display name, email address and profile photo URL.

GeoCapital also collects gameplay information such as scores, time remaining, selected mode, answer type, time limit, completed percentage, leaderboard entries and public ranking information. Contact messages may include the information you type into the contact form.

3. Authentication and hosting providers

GeoCapital uses Firebase services, including Firebase Authentication, Firestore and Firebase Hosting. These services are provided by Google and may process technical information needed to authenticate users, host the site, protect the application and operate the database.

4. How we use information

• To create and manage accounts.
• To verify email addresses and reset passwords.
• To save gameplay results and calculate statistics.
• To display public leaderboards.
• To prevent abuse, troubleshoot problems and improve the site.
• To respond to contact requests.

5. Public information

Leaderboard entries may publicly show a username, country flag, score, time remaining and ranking. Do not choose a username that reveals personal information you do not want to make public.

6. Cookies, local storage and similar technologies

GeoCapital uses browser storage to remember preferences such as selected language and game settings. Firebase, reCAPTCHA and future analytics or advertising tools may use cookies or similar technologies for security, measurement, personalization or advertising.

7. Advertising

GeoCapital may later display advertising, including through Google advertising products. If advertising is added, Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technologies to serve and measure ads, including personalized ads where permitted. Users may be offered cookie or consent controls when required.

8. Marketing communications

If GeoCapital later offers a newsletter or marketing messages, users will only receive those communications where they have consented or where the law permits. Users will be able to unsubscribe from marketing communications.

9. Sharing of information

GeoCapital does not sell personal information. Information may be processed by service providers needed to operate the site, including Google Firebase. Information may also be disclosed if required by law, to protect rights and security, or to respond to abuse.

10. Retention

Account information is generally kept while the account exists. Gameplay and leaderboard information may be kept to maintain statistics and rankings. Contact messages may be kept as long as needed to respond and keep records.

11. Security

GeoCapital uses Firebase Authentication, Firestore security rules and App Check preparation to help protect accounts and data. No online service can guarantee absolute security.

12. Your choices and rights

You may request access, correction or deletion of personal information by contacting geocapital.fun@gmail.com. Some leaderboard or gameplay records may need to be retained for integrity, security or legal reasons, but we will review requests reasonably.

13. Children and teens

GeoCapital is a general-audience geography game. Users should not provide unnecessary personal information. If a parent or guardian believes a child has provided personal information improperly, they may contact us.

14. Changes

This policy may be updated as GeoCapital adds features such as advertising, analytics, newsletters or additional account tools. The effective date will be updated when material changes are made.
